Our Investment Thesis
Consumer : New technology companies are reinventing the way we work, play, eat, commute, learn, and socialize, and these companies are pivotal in shaping our future. That translates to a deep respect for the entrepreneurial process and an avid interest in new (sometimes crazy-sounding) ideas. We’re intrigued by the next generation of video, audio, communication and social platforms, as well as apps that are fundamentally shaping the consumer experience in fields like consumer internet, direct to consumer. And we're global-thinkers inspired by ideas in other parts of the world and the new consumer behaviors that emerge at scale.
Fintech : Companies are now innovating across categories — in financial services like banking, lending, insurance, and investing — both on the customer facing side and in core infrastructure. We believe the combination of mobile, digital money, machine learning, and new data sources offers startups a unique opportunity to leapfrog outdated infrastructure and compete with incumbent financial institutions to reimagine the way we manage our finances.
Web3 : We are now beginning the third era of the internet — what many call web3 — which combines the decentralized, community-governed ethos of the internet with the advanced, modern functionality. This will unlock a new wave of creativity and entrepreneurship.
